the W30 is the most economical addition to sony's current digicam line. it's got 6mp, and all the standard geegaws found in most sony cams.
a lot of my friends don't recommend buying a sony cam. nikon or canon daw yung pinakamagandang color shots for a point-and-shoot. i dunno about that though. i think that's the case if you use the automatic settings.
what i like about this cam is it's rich color option, capturing vivid shots. what's missing are the negative and solarize color effects. also, not to belittle other brands, but i noticed that the shake-effect is a lot minimized with sony. or maybe, like the panasonic lumix series with OIS, it's got a balance sensor of its own. or my hands are really just steady. aaaand it does take pretty good action shots.
i'm a shallow bitch so i'll share with you the deciding factor as to why i'm getting this cam: because of the color. it's aqua damnit! ain't it lovely?! ain't it fabulous?! the white... nah. silver? too standard. but aqua? reminders of a clear beach. *sigh*
i had master j buy this for me sa states. if he finds it in all my requirements (has to be BLUE or nothing, plus the 512 Memory Stick DUO Pro) and if he still has the cash, he'll get it for me. he comes home on the 9th, so i'll get it the following monday.

this is a fairly new model so conventional review sites like steves-digicams and other whatnots don't have detailed reviews yet. at the sony store in megamall, this cam retails for Php 19,999. other stores out at the cyberzone sell it for 19,500. as jeff said, i'm sure there are a lot more cheaper resellers out there... but i don't know where to find 'em. besides, mas mura pa rin yung total package kung sa states bilhin.
